About
This site is dedicated to helping leaders and entrepreneurs in engineering, tech, and STEM navigate the modern world of work, get things done and maintain their sanity.
Why I'm doing this
Throughout my career, three things have become very clear about leadership in technical contexts: 1) leadership is very important, 2) leadership is very difficult, and 3) engineers and other STEM colleagues are not well supported to make the transition into leadership. Furthermore, I think this is all increasingly true with each passing year.
To that end, I started this site to help leaders in engineering and tech hone their craft and improve the practice of leadership while avoiding burnout.
About me
For nearly 20 years, I have been working either as a leader in engineering, serving leaders in tech, or doing research in leadership and management. Today, I provide coaching, training, and consulting to leaders and entrepreneurs in tech, STEM, and engineering. I also conduct research on the effects of diminished mental health on a leader's ability to lead well, and on wellbeing and quality of life more generally.
My work has been featured in major outlets like the Financial Times, CBS, and SmartBrief. It has also been featured in Engineering.com, IEEE's The Institute, the Engineering Management Institute, and the American Society of Engineering Management. His articles are included in courses in seven universities.

What to expect
My goal here is to translate what I've learned through practice, research, and working with other engineering leaders into thoughtful, actionable advice, ideas, and case studies. While I use AI to help me with the more mundane and tedious elements of my work, every word written here will come from my keyboard, and every idea will come from my head.
